how do dentists take off your permanent teeth?

my teeth is not straight and i am planning to get braces. i am wondering how dentists take off the teeth, since the teeth stick into your jaw so strong.

P.S. I know dentist will give u a shot b4 taking off the teeth so that u feel numb. however…do u really feel nothing? what does it feel like?
I am so scared of pain!
